SUNOX technology, anti-virus and anti-bacterial mosquito net
At Disper we have the SUNOX® technology antibacterial mosquito nets, a patented system consisting of photocatalytic coatings that, in the presence of sunlight or full-spectrum fluorescent lamps, can eliminate over 95% of the viruses, bacteria and moulds present in the environment as well as preventing their development both inside and outside the net. It is active 24 hours a day and starts to be effective within the first 90 minutes of use.
PHOTOCATALYSIS: a natural principle
Photocatalysis is a photochemical reaction that converts solar energy into chemical energy on the surface of a catalyst or substrate. It’s one of the most natural chemical-physical principles.
It is defined as “the acceleration of the speed of a photoreaction due to the presence of a catalyst”.
A catalyst does not change or is consumed by a chemical reaction. The SUNOX® system (in the presence of light, humidity and oxygen) generates a strong oxidizing agent capable of transforming organic substances into carbon dioxide and water.
Through photocatalysis, most of the pollutants present in urban areas can be removed: volatile organic compounds, methyl mercaptan, formaldehyde, chlorinated organic compounds, poly aromatic compounds. Materials treated with a photocatalyst primarily remove particulates that are produced by vehicles, industry, and power generation.
“Full spectrum lamps”
They refer to lighting systems that have the following properties:
- Fidelity to daylight, similar to sunlight: colored parts
- 400-800 nanometers and 5800 Kelvin color temperature.
- UV composition in small and insignificant doses and correct proportions.
- Harmonic transition spectrum.
Características técnicas

- Thickness 0.29 mm
- Weight 116 gr / mq
- M2 flame resistance hardly flammable
- Cleaning with soap and water
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Destruction of nitrogen dioxide
The contaminant is absorbed on the surface of the material.
The absorbed contaminant is oxidized in two stages to an inert compound, nitrates (NO3).
The inert compound is removed from the surface of the material.
SUNOX® is a patented system (PCT / IB2011 / 054794, PCT / IT2012 / 000219, BO2010A000644, BO2012A000317 and BO2012A000318). All SUNOX® environments (production of materials, their placement and positioning of light points) are certified.
EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT
Bacterial growth
Ideally, bacteria double every 20 minutes. In 6 hours, at a temperature of 37 ° C, an initial population of 100 bacteria can replicate to a value of over 26 million.
The bacteria
The determination of antibacterial activity was carried out in accordance with ISO 27447: 2009, which is used for different types of photocatalytic semiconductor materials normally used in construction materials, in the realization of objects with flat edges. or laminar, or in fabric production, which are the basic forms of materials for various applications.
This test method is generally applicable to photocatalytic materials made to generate an antibacterial effect. Microbiological analyzes were carried out by Biochemie Lab.
Virus
The study of virucidal activity was carried out in the Department of Hygiene and Public Health of the University of Florence (a laboratory that is a member of the regional network of reference laboratories, accredited for virological monitoring and validated by the WHO National Center for Influence of the Higher Institute of Health – Department of Infectious Diseases – ITALY.
